Intent
Through Design and Technology we aim for children to develop the skills needed to investigate and evaluate existing products and then design, make and evaluate their own products. We aim for children to develop their inventive thinking and take part in creative activities to produce a product to satisfy a particular design criteria. Children will draw upon both individual and team based skills to become creative problem solvers. Through effective DT children can learn to become informed users of products designed by themselves and others. Children will take part in engaging, practical lessons that where possible link to the current projects and immersive classroom themes to give added purpose to the products they are making.
