VIOLET

                           Welcome to Violet Class!

In this  year 2 class Mrs Dunstan is the class teacher and Mrs Strickland is the teaching assistant. Please come and see us if you have any questions or queries.

We have P.E. on a Monday and Tuesday but please make sure P.E. bags are in school all week.

The theme this term will be "All Creatures Great and Small". Our project will be "Who do we share our world with?"

Through this theme your child will be taught:

Art and D&T: We will be using textiles skills to create animal themed Art pieces.  We will also look at the work of the artist Donna Crawshaw.

Science :  We will be learning about animals and considering life cycles, food chains and habitats. To support this learning we will also visit Whisby Nature Park.

ICT :  We will continue to develop skills in digital research and digital art.  We will then apply these skills and create e-books.
Music:  Our focus is on "Exploring Duration".

P.E:  Our focus areas are multi-skills for improving fitness, team games and athletics.

R.E:  We will consider Creation stories and look at taking care of our wonderful world.

PSHCE (Personal, social, health, citizenship education):  Our focus will be on Curiosity.
SEAL (social, emotional aspects of learning) :  Our focus will be on "Changes".

Literacy: Ongoing literacy skills plus topic related work.

Numeracy: Ongoing numeracy skills plus topic related work.

Any additional resources/artefacts/ photographs that may support our topic would be greatly appreciated.

Speaking, listening, healthy lifestyles, community links and personal values continue to be the drivers of our curriculum. They are embedded through all subjects as well as the ethos and aims at Bottesford Infants.
