Mrs Dalgairns is the class teacher and Mrs Strickland is the TA.
P.E will be Tuesday and Thursday. As P.E times change throughout the year, could you please ensure that P.E kits are brought to school on Monday and they will be taken home on Fridays.
Summer Term Coverage -
This term our whole school theme is 'Knock Knock’
Literacy - In literacy the children will be writing instructions, recounts, non-fiction writing about castles and poetry.
The children will be covering a range of spelling, grammar and punctuation skills.
Numeracy - In Numeracy the children will cover a range of activities involving skills such as improving their mental arithmetic, the 4 operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and challenges linked to applying these, fractions, understanding the properties of shapes, comparing measures, time and money.
Computing - In Computing the children will be using the ipads to research. Children will be reminded of E-safety and how to keep themselves safe whilst online. Children will be developing their word processing skills and they will be creating class imovies.
Science - We will be focusing on animals, plants and their habitats, food chains, comparing living and non-living things and exploring ways in which we keep healthy.
PSHCE - We will be focusing on the values of 'respect' (Respectful Rabbit) and 'empowerment' (Fly High Eagle).
Art and Design - The children will be designing and painting their own coat of arms.
Music - The children will be focusing on timbre, tempo and dynamics. The children will explore medieval music and instruments.
PE - The children will have opportunities to cover aspects of athletics and games.
Design and Technology - The children will be designing and creating a fruit salad.
History - The children will be learning about how homes and castles have changed over the years.
RE - The children will be learning about creation stories from the Christian and Hindu faith and comparing them.
