International Schools

At Bottesford Infant School we have a meaningful and sustainable relationship with our link school in Ethiopia called Tokuma Elementary. Each term we learn more about the culture and life in Bishoftu where our partner school is located. Each year we complete a ‘Shared Learning Activity’. We create and send work over to the children of Tokuma Elementary and they send their work over to us! Receiving their responses is one of favourite times of the year. We love to see the children’s work and compare and contrast how their responses are similar and different to ours. Take a look at our ‘Tokuma Elementary’ display up in the hall to see the work we have received from them over the years.

Our international school link is a good way to get pupils excited about another country. It provides opportunities for our pupils to learn about another culture and encourages them to appreciate diversity both locally and globally. It also provides a space in which children can explore other beliefs and social viewpoints.
