Mrs Woodhead is the class teacher and Mrs Walker is the TA.

P.E will be Tuesday and Thursday. As P.E times change throughout the year, could you please ensure that P.E kits are brought to school on Monday and they will be taken home on Fridays. 

 

Autumn Term Coverage - 

This term our whole school theme is 'Bright Sparks’

 

Literacy - In literacy the children will be writing character descriptions, letters, newspaper reports and diaries. 

The children will be covering a range of spelling, grammar and punctuation skills.

Numeracy - In Numeracy the children will cover a range of activities involving skills such as improving their mental arithmetic, the 4 operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and challenges linked to applying these, fractions, understanding the properties of shapes, comparing measures, time and money.

Computing - In Computing the children will be using the ipads to carry out digital research and creating non-fiction texts. Children will have the opportunity to develop core word processing skills. 

Science - In Science we will be exploring materials. Children will learn about natural and man-made materials and their properties. 

PSHCE - We will be focusing on the values of 'Working Together' (Busy Bee) and 'Enjoyment' (Merry Monkey).

Art and Design - The children will have the opportunity to create artwork relating to Fireworks and Divali. The children will learn about famous portrait painters. They will also be using critique to create a final portrait masterpiece of Samuel Pepys.

Music - The children will be focusing on singing and exploring instruments and sounds. 

PE - The children will be learning gymnastics and games skills. We will also be introducing the children to yoga. 

Design and Technology - The children will be exploring and using mechanisms and using them to create moving pictures. 

History - The children will be finding out about the Great Fire of London and the impact that this event had. We will also be looking at the history of the Fire Service and the importance of fire safety. 

RE - The children will be exploring what it feels like to belong to different groups/communities. (e.g. family, sports clubs, etc). We will also learn about what belonging means to people of faith.
