Mrs Woodhead is the class teacher and Mrs Walker is the TA.
P.E will be Tuesday and Thursday. As P.E times change throughout the year, could you please ensure that P.E kits are brought to school on Monday and they will be taken home on Fridays.
Spring Term Coverage -
This term our whole school theme is 'Ship Ahoy’
Literacy - In literacy the children will be writing non-chronological reports, character descriptions, story writing, instructions and poetry.
The children will be covering a range of spelling, grammar and punctuation skills.
Numeracy - In Numeracy the children will cover a range of activities involving skills such as improving their mental arithmetic, the 4 operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and challenges linked to applying these, fractions, understanding the properties of shapes, comparing measures, time and money.
Computing - In Computing the children will be using the ipads to research. Children will be reminded of E-safety and how to keep themselves safe whilst online. Children will be exploring algorithms linked to map skills and orienteering. Children will be extending their coding skills.
Science - We will be focusing on electricity.
PSHCE - We will be focusing on the values Communication (Chatty Dolphin) and Achievement (Amazing Ant)
Art and Design - The children will be learning about famous seascape artists and using this as a starting point to create their own artwork.
Music - The children will be singing sea shanties, listening to and appraising contrasting sea inspired compositions.
PE - The children will have opportunities to cover aspects of gym, dance and games.
Design and Technology - The children will be designing and creating moving pictures related to our topic.
History - The children will be learning about real-life pirates.
Geography - The children will be focusing on map skills, orienteering and learning about the continents and oceans.
RE - The children will be learning about how people from different faiths show their beliefs. We will also be learning about different religious celebrations including Chinese New Year and Easter.
